10 Art Exhibitions to Explore in Fort Worth This Fall

Fort Worth is gearing up for a vibrant art scene this fall, with numerous exhibitions set to open across the city. Here’s a roundup of the most notable shows, from local talent to international masterpieces.

The Amon Carter Museum of American Art will debut a groundbreaking exhibition featuring works from billionaire Charles Butt’s private collection, including pieces by Romare Bearden, Edward Hopper, and Georgia O’Keeffe. The show opens on August 15 and runs until November 23.

Meanwhile, ‘Sundance Square Car & Culture’ at 400H Gallery and Zona 7 Gallery will showcase Latin identity through art on paper, photographs, and paintings, starting from August 15.

Austin Uzor’s abstract paintings, which explore the intersection of dreams, memory, and imagination, will be on display at Giant Runt Gallery from August 16 to September 27. The show is open by appointment only.

For a fiery experience, ‘David-Jeremiah: The Fire This Time’ at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth promises 28 towering pieces of art that explore the element of fire across shaped wood. The exhibition runs from August 15 to November 2.

‘Sense Tension and Hope at Good Morning/Mourning America’ at Gallery 440 will delve into the current cultural and political climate of the United States, featuring works by 12 Texas-based artists. The show opens on August 22 and closes on August 28.

‘Preservation is the Art of the City’ at First on 7th will support Fort Worth’s historic identity, showcasing local talent in a fundraiser for preservation efforts. The exhibition runs from September 5 to 6.

The Kimbell Art Museum will host ‘Myth and Marble,’ an ancient Roman sculpture show that makes its North American premiere. The nearly 60 works on display include 24 restored pieces that have been hidden for nearly a century. Tickets go on sale August 20.
