10 Countries to Recognize Palestinian State Expected to Vote Monday

Israel’s military operation in Gaza City continued to intensify, with at least 60 Palestinians killed and dozens injured. The Israeli forces have been pounding the Sheikh Radwan and Tel Al-Hawa areas, where they control Gaza City’s eastern suburbs.

Hamas, which controls Gaza, disputes the high number of people who have left the city. According to Hamas, only around 300,000 people have left since September, while over 900,000 remain, including Israeli hostages. The militant group released a message warning that the hostages’ lives are at risk due to Israel’s operation.

The war has already killed over 65,000 Palestinians and displaced many more. Israel says the hunger crisis in Gaza is exaggerated and blames Hamas for the situation. However, Hamas denies this claim, saying that Israeli firepower and air cover allow gangs to attack aid trucks, loot, and steal.

In a related development, ten countries are expected to vote on recognizing Palestine as a state on Monday. The United Nations has been urging Israel to cease its operations in Gaza and end its blockade of the enclave.

The international community is closely watching the situation in Gaza, with many calling for an immediate ceasefire.
