A 10-year-old girl from Arizona earned $2,100 selling chickens at a local county fair last year. However, when her parents deposited the check, Chase Bank allegedly froze the funds due to an error on the check.
According to Kinley Maner’s father, J.R., the bank closed their daughter’s account and wouldn’t let them access the money. Despite spending hours on the phone with Chase, they couldn’t resolve the issue. The bank claimed that the check was labeled suspicious after a search for the Small Stock Association’s phone number.
Kinley had worked hard to earn the money, but her family struggled to prove the association is a valid business. After reaching out to a local news outlet, Kinley received an apology from Chase and her funds were restored via overnight check. The bank has confirmed that the funds have been returned and apologized for the delay.
