More than 1,500 flights were cancelled on July 3-4 due to a strike by French air traffic controllers. Nearly 300,000 passengers were affected, with many summer travelers facing disrupted plans.
The strike coincided with the Grand Départ, one of the busiest periods for summer travel. Airlines for Europe condemned the strike, calling it “unacceptable”.
Travellers in France and across Europe saw their flights grounded as air traffic controllers walked out. The cancellations were widespread, affecting tens of thousands of people who had planned to travel during this period.
The disruption is expected to have a significant impact on those affected, with many summer holidays likely to be severely disrupted.
