Former teen mom Whitney Purvis was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter after a fatal overdose in Georgia. The overdose was caused by Tranq, a combination of Fentanyl and Xylazine. Purvis is also facing charges related to controlled substances, including possession with intent to distribute.
The arrest comes as Purvis’ life has been marked by tragedy. Just over a month ago, her teenage son Weston died of natural causes. This incident marks Purvis’ third arrest, although it’s her first for a serious offense.
Purvis had previously been arrested for less serious allegations, including shoplifting and failing to pay child support. Her representatives have not commented on the latest charges.
