The highly anticipated second season of “1923” premieres Sunday on Paramount+. The Taylor Sheridan-created series continues the story of one generation of the Dutton family, who own and operate a ranch in Montana.
In the new season, Spencer Dutton, Jacob and Cara’s nephew, embarks on an arduous journey home from Kenya to save his family, facing harsh winter conditions, adversaries, and unfinished business at the ranch. Meanwhile, Alexandra, Spencer’s wife, sets off on her own transatlantic journey to find him.
Spencer’s journey begins after a dramatic finale in Season 1, where he is separated from Alex after a duel with her former fiancĂ©. The two lovers must now navigate their way back to each other and the ranch.
The creators of “1923” had initially planned for Season 2 to be self-contained, but Taylor Sheridan revealed that he needed more time to complete the story. In an interview, Sheridan stated that he wanted to make two blocks of episodes to ensure the story was told justice.
Viewers can watch new episodes every Sunday on Paramount+, with the first season also available on the streaming service.
