1Password has introduced a new feature that makes it easier to find login credentials, passwords, and access codes based on their location. Users can now add specific physical locations to items, which will automatically appear in the app’s home tab when they are near that spot.
This feature aims to simplify password management by reducing clutter on frequently used or favorited passwords. By associating passwords with a specific location, users can quickly find relevant credentials without having to search through a long list. Locations can be added while at the specific spot or using a new map view.
The app’s new map view allows users to browse all locations associated with saved items and limit the number of items displayed in the home tab by range. The developer assures that location data is never stored, shared, or tracked, and users have control over whether the feature is enabled.
This feature was originally introduced through 1Password labs, where users can test new features before they are rolled out to all users. With this update, 1Password aims to make password management more convenient and organized for its users.
