The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is rewriting the rules of what a Mustang can be, boasting the highest performance specs ever seen in a production Mustang. Powered by a supercharged V8 engine and paired with a Tremec dual-clutch automatic transmission, this car delivers an impressive 815 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque.
With its advanced braking systems, fresh suspension units, and enhanced aerodynamics, the GTD transcends its traditional muscle car roots, emerging as a true supercar. Its top speed is a remarkable 202 mph (325 km/h), making it the fastest street-legal Mustang ever made.
The heart of this performance is a dry-sump oil system, which provides good lubrication even during high-speed cornering. The GTD also features an 8-speed dual-clutch transaxle and has a near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Additional features include a titanium active valve exhaust system and a revised intake.
The Mustang GTD’s capabilities don’t stop at speed. Its interior boasts materials like carbon fiber, Miko suede, and leather, with standard Recaro seats. It also offers extensive customization options, including multiple interior color combinations, option packages, and “any color” exterior finishes.
Production of the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is limited to around 2,000 units, further emphasizing its exclusivity. The car’s performance is rivaled by only a few rivals, including the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. However, the Mustang GTD’s track-focused engineering gives it an edge in this competition.
