The 2025 NFL Draft is just around the corner, with teams gearing up to tackle the annual event in Indianapolis. Bucky Brooks’ latest mock draft has surfaced, featuring some surprising moves and top picks.
Brooks’ No. 1 overall pick is Abdul Carter, the talented edge rusher from Penn State. Despite an injury that will keep him from working out at the Combine, Carter’s impressive stats (68 total tackles, 23.5 tackles for a loss, 12.0 sacks) make him a top target.
The quarterback class might not be as deep as in previous years, but Cam Ward from Miami is still a potential top-five pick. He threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns last season, showcasing his impressive skills.
Taking an offensive tackle in the top five picks is key, according to Brooks. Kelvin Banks from Texas is his ideal option for Chicago Bears, who need talent in front of Caleb Williams. Banks won the Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy, solidifying his position as one of the top linemen in the game.
Other surprising moves include the New York Jets targeting Mykel Williams from Georgia, a talented edge rusher, and the Carolina Panthers selecting Mason Graham from Michigan, an anchor for their defensive front.
Walker’s uber-talented edge rusher opposite Williams is Jalon Walker from Georgia. The Chicago Bears are likely to take him at No. 10 overall. New Orleans could use his help to aid its aging pass rush.
The rest of Brooks’ mock draft features a range of talented players, including Mike Green from Marshall, Armand Membou from Missouri, and Emeka Egbuka from Ohio State.
