23andMe Holding Co., the Silicon Valley-based genetic testing firm, has initiated Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. The company plans to maximize the value of its business and continue operating throughout the sales process. Notably, co-founder and former CEO, Linda Avey, has stepped down from her role as CEO.
