In 1998, Amy Bradley, 23, vanished from her family’s Caribbean cruise while on vacation with them. Despite numerous investigations, authorities still do not know why or how she disappeared. The lack of a recovered body has fueled speculation that Amy might be alive, but there are many unanswered questions about what happened to her.
The documentary features interviews with Amy’s family members, FBI officials working on the case, and people who claim to have seen her alive. One such person is David Carmichael, who says he saw a woman matching Amy’s description walking towards him on a beach in Curaçao. Another individual, Bill Hefner, claims to have met a girl named Amy Bradley at a bar in Curaçao, suggesting she might be in the area.
The documentary also delves into the case of Alastair Douglas, a bass player who was on the same cruise as Amy. He has been questioned by the FBI and appears in the documentary, but his daughter says she is not convinced he had nothing to do with her disappearance. The filmmakers hope that the documentary will help bring closure to the family.
Amy’s family remains hopeful that they will one day find out what happened to their loved one. They have a website where they post pictures of Amy and have noticed IP addresses from Curaçao and Barbados visiting it around holidays and birthdays. While these leads are promising, the FBI is unable to provide more information on the IP addresses due to them not being from U.S. carriers.
The documentary ends with a plea from Amy’s mother, Iva, asking anyone with information to come forward. As one of the filmmakers notes, nothing can fully answer all the questions in this case, but it is the hope and determination of Amy’s family that keep her disappearance alive in our minds.
