As a Netflix subscriber, you’re likely no stranger to discovering new shows that captivate your attention – only to lose interest halfway through. It’s happened to the best of us, and some popular titles are guilty of it too. Here are three Netflix shows I abandoned and why.
Riverdale
This adaptation of Archie Comics characters followed Archie (KJ Apa) as he navigated high school and uncovered dark secrets in his town. Initially, I enjoyed its engaging drama and unique characters, but the show took an absurd turn with bizarre plotlines, cults, supernatural happenings, and even alien abductions. By season 3, I was out.
The Night Agent
This TV adaptation of Matthew Quirk’s book saw Gabriel Basso play a low-level FBI agent investigating a conspiracy within the US government. The show had high-octane espionage action that initially hooked me. However, by season 2, it became too slow-paced and lacked the super spy excitement I was expecting.
Elite
This Spanish teen drama centered around students at an elite private school and explored themes of class conflict, murder, and teenage angst. Initially, its complex relationships and authentic characters kept me engaged, but as the majority of the original cast left and new characters were introduced, the show’s appeal wore off due to repetitive plots.
These shows are just a few examples of Netflix titles that failed to keep my attention beyond their initial promise. If you’re looking for a great watch, there’s plenty of content available – but it’s essential to find something that genuinely grabs your interest.
