A recent hack on the Drift decentralized finance project has exposed a human weakness in the field of cryptocurrency. The Solana-based protocol lost nearly $300 million in digital assets due to an unauthorized access gained by a malicious actor through an innovative attack method called durable nonces. This attack allowed the attacker to quickly take control of the Security Council’s administrative powers, resulting in significant losses for Drift.
