At least 30 Palestinians were killed and dozens more wounded by Israeli fire on Sunday at an aid distribution point set up by a foundation backed by Israel, according to eyewitnesses and hospital officials. The incident occurred as people arrived for food, despite warnings from Israeli forces that no one should approach the site before 6am. Witnesses reported seeing soldiers firing warning shots towards suspects, but said they did not open fire on the crowd. However, Israeli forces claimed there was “no incident” at the site and denied any wrongdoing. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which runs the aid distribution point, has denied previous accounts of gunfire around its sites. The latest incident is the latest in a series of violent clashes between Hamas and Israel over food distribution and a proposed ceasefire.
