When you’re bombarded with personalized ads on your phone, it can be overwhelming. Taking back control of your phone’s data is easier than you think.
1. Audit app permissions
Start by reviewing which apps have access to sensitive information like location and contacts. Go to Settings > Privacy > Permission manager and revoke any unnecessary permissions.
2. Clean up old and unused apps
Get rid of apps that are no longer needed or used. Uninstalling them removes the risk of background tracking and access to your data.
3. Turn off ad personalization
Opt out of ad targeting by going to Settings > Privacy > Advanced > Ads, then toggling off Allow ad topics and Allow app-suggested ads.
4. Lock down browser and search privacy
Modify Chrome’s settings to reduce tracking, or switch to a new browser like Brave that blocks trackers and ads.
