The San Francisco 49ers dominated the Chicago Bears 38-13 on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium, led by quarterback Brock Purdy’s impressive performance. In the first half, Purdy completed 16 of 18 passes for 258 yards with two touchdowns and a passer rating of 155.8.
Caleb Williams attempted to mount a comeback in the second half, throwing two touchdown passes to Rome Odunze, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit. The Bears fell behind 31-6 on Isaac Guerendo’s 4-yard TD run in the fourth quarter and couldn’t recover.
Brock Purdy finished the game with 20 of 25 passing yards for 325 yards and a rating of 145.4, extending his streak without an interception to 255 pass attempts. The 49ers offense was led by tight end George Kittle, who had six receptions for 151 yards.
The Bears struggled on both sides of the ball, with Thomas Brown admitting that they need to improve their game plan and execution. “We’ve got to do a better job of putting in a better game plan on both sides of the ball,” he said. The Bears fell to 4-9 with the loss and will look to bounce back against the Vikings next Monday night.
