5 Exciting Features Coming to MacOS 26 ‘Tahoe’

Apple has announced its latest update for MacOS 26, codenamed “Tahoe,” which promises a slew of new features and improvements. The main focus is on streamlining the visual UI and feature sets across Apple devices, with an emphasis on user experience and app integration.

One of the most significant additions is the Phone app on Mac, allowing users to access recent calls and contacts synced from their iPhone and make calls with a single click. Live activities from the iPhone will also be visible on your Mac, enabling seamless interaction between devices.

Apple has also revamped its Liquid Glass design theme, introducing a more translucent aesthetic that shows more content on screen without clutter. This redesign applies to dock, sidebars, and toolbars, as well as folder icons, which can now be customized with colors, themes, and emojis.

The Spotlight feature has been upgraded with smart integrations for Shortcuts, allowing users to access app-specific actions and perform complex tasks like summarizing text or creating images. Additionally, Apple Intelligence features, including personalized Siri and a smarter Shortcuts app, will be available on MacOS 26.

Lastly, the Games app is coming to MacOS 26 as a dedicated store, launcher, and leaderboard, while Metal 4 offers higher quality graphics with smoother visuals and faster frame rates.

However, not all Macs will support the new OS version. Devices with Intel processors prior to 2020 will not be compatible, whereas those with M1 processors or later will run MacOS 26 Tahoe without issues.
