50 Small Businesses Shine in Big Game Commercials

When the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday, people from across the US will come together to watch the big game. This year’s event also marks a unique collaboration between Google Workspace and small businesses nationwide. Fifty commercials profiling 50 small businesses using AI are set to air during the game, highlighting innovative companies from every state.

These local spots focus on small businesses driven by American economy, with nearly 34 million in total, employing over 59 million people. Despite their importance, they face challenges like wearing multiple hats and solving problems alone. Google Workspace’s Gemini tool is now a core functionality included in business plans, providing AI-powered solutions for tasks such as writing grant proposals and developing marketing copy.

The project aims to showcase the innovation and hard work of small businesses using AI. Keri Buchanan, Growth Marketing leader at Google Workspace, highlights how AI can help entrepreneurs focus on their passion by handling daily tasks. Jeff Curry, Director of Creative Studio, praises the range of people, places, and types of businesses featured in the ads.

The initiative involved sourcing 50 small businesses across the US, selecting them based on their use of Gemini’s AI tools. A crew of 50 captured hundreds of hours of footage in 50 states over 10 weeks. The resulting commercials aim to excite entrepreneurs everywhere and inspire a new wave of stories from Google Workspace customers.

These ads demonstrate how AI is transforming small businesses across America, from cattle ranchers in Nebraska to boat makers in Maine. By highlighting their innovation and success, the project aims to celebrate the American economy’s backbone – its small businesses.
