Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip killed 56 people in 24 hours, including several children and Hamas security officers. The strikes targeted an area Israel had declared a humanitarian zone.
Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu’s office authorized a delegation to continue ceasefire talks in Qatar, led by the US. This comes as 15-month-long war has blocked previous talks.
The latest killings include two Hamas police officers and three children among the first 10 to die on Thursday. Other strikes targeted senior police officers, local aid committees, and groups of civilians walking on the street.
Meanwhile, Houthi rebels launched a missile from Yemen that was intercepted by Israeli interceptors without causing any damage or casualties. The Houthis have vowed to continue attacking Israel until the end of the war in Gaza.
