Rapper 6ix9ine is doing well despite his declining music chart rankings, thanks to the high prices his platinum and gold commemorative plaques have sold for. According to reports, many of his memorabilia items went for more than expected, with some selling for nearly triple the predicted price.
The rapper’s “GOOBA” plaque sold for $10,250, while his “BEBE” plaque fetched $19,000 – almost three times the estimated value. The “STOOPID” plaque also exceeded expectations, selling for $12,000. His breakout song “GUMMO” fared well as well, with two platinum plaques selling for higher than their estimated price of $4-6K each.
However, not all items sold for high prices. 6ix9ine’s colorful jewelry was a mixed bag, with some pieces selling for lower than expected. On the other hand, watches and less expensive necklaces did better than predicted.
The collection of 63 items was sold off by Market Auctions on behalf of the IRS, which had raided the rapper’s Florida home last year claiming nonpayment of internal revenue taxes. In a recent Instagram post, 6ix9ine seemed to confirm this, stating that the raid was sparked by his failure to report income for four years and a video he posted about a safe full of cash.
