A group of masked thieves stole approximately $7,000 worth of Labubu dolls from a Los Angeles-area store on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred at One Stop Shop in La Puente, a city about 18 miles east of Los Angeles. Authorities say the suspects used a stolen Toyota Tacoma, which was recovered shortly after the theft.
Labubu dolls, created by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung, have become highly collectible items over the past decade since their introduction. The store’s entire inventory was taken, leaving the establishment in disarray. Surveillance footage shows the thieves breaking into the shop, shuffling through items, and carrying boxes out of the premises.
The LA County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the case and urging anyone with information to come forward. One Stop Shop has expressed shock and disappointment at the theft, encouraging customers to help find the perpetrators.
