Nintendo Switch 2 Leaks Reveals Design and Details

A massive leak from a Reddit user claims to have hands-on experience with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console. The user, NextHandheld, shared a detailed list of what to expect from the device, including its design, features, and specifications.

According to NextHandheld, the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released in January, with a possible release date in mid-March. The console’s price is expected to range between $399 to $499. The screen size remains the same as the Steam Deck OLED, measuring 7.4 inches.

The design of the Switch 2 appears to be largely similar to its predecessor, with some notable changes. The dock has a curved edge and back, but does not cover the top of the screen. It features two USB-A ports, one USB-C port, an HDMI port, and an Ethernet port. There is no eGPU support.

NextHandheld claims that the console could be capable of 4K at 30fps when docked. The device is said to be lightweight and thin, similar to its predecessor, with a U-shaped kickstand. The Joy-Con controllers use Hall effect sensors to eliminate stick drift, but their attachment method has changed.

The leaker remains unsure about the functionality of the ‘C’ button under the Home button on the Joy-Con. However, they confirm that the ergonomics of the device largely remain the same as its predecessor.

The leak provides convincing evidence that the recent design mockups and other pictures seen of the Switch 2 are real. While some details, such as the console’s power capabilities and game lineup, remain unknown, the design will likely be revealed in due time.

Note: The information provided by NextHandheld has been confirmed to align with previous leaks and rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2.
