Amazon’s Dual Audio Feature Coming Soon on Fire TV Devices

Amazon is set to roll out its Dual Audio feature for Fire TV devices in the coming weeks. The new feature allows users with hearing aids that support the audio streaming for hearing aids (ASHA) protocol to listen through their device while others in the room experience standard sound from a TV’s speakers.

The feature, which will be available first on the company’s latest Fire TV Omni Mini LED, enables customers to enjoy a more communal viewing experience. Amazon is also expanding its support for ASHA-enabled hearing aids to include Widex Moment BTE and RIC models.

In addition to accessibility features, Amazon is introducing new packaging that uses 30% more recycled fiber and 60% less ink on average. The company has added tactile QR codes to its latest packaging that provide accessible information for customers who are blind or have low vision.

To enable Dual Audio on the Fire TV Omni Mini LED, users can follow these steps: press and hold the Home button on their remote, go to Settings > Accessibility, and turn on the Dual Audio feature. To set up a hearing aid with Fire TV, users should go to Settings > Accessibility, choose the Hearing Aids section, and select “Add Hearing Aids.”
