US President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for special envoy to the war in Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, has criticized the assassination of a Russian general, saying it was “not a good idea at all”. The attack, which used a bomb planted in an electric scooter, was deemed excessive and unnecessary by Kellogg.
Kellogg also stated that while the killing is not a setback for Ukraine, there are rules of warfare that should be respected. He believes both Moscow and Kyiv are ready to engage in peace negotiations, comparing the conflict to a boxing match where parties can choose when to quit.
Kellogg plans to visit Kyiv in January as part of his new role.
