Frito-Lay has issued a limited recall of its Lay’s Classic Potato Chips due to an undeclared allergen in 6,344 bags distributed in Oregon and Washington.
The recall was initiated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration after a consumer contact alerted the company about potential milk contamination. Consumers with milk allergies are advised to discard any 13-ounce bags of chips with a “Guaranteed Fresh” date reading “11 FEB 2025” and manufacturing code of either 6462307xx or 6463307xx.
No allergic reactions have been reported, but those with a severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of life-threatening reactions if they consume the recalled product. The recall affects only these specific products, flavors, sizes, and variety packs were not affected.
