If you recently installed iOS 18.2, here are four essential iPhone settings you should try:
1. Customizable Home Screen Layout
With iOS 18.2, Apple allows users to arrange app icons in their preferred order. You can also apply dark mode to the Home Screen, which changes the wallpaper and background colors of first-party apps. Additionally, a new Tinted option lets you “paint” all app icons with a single color.
2. Improved Photos App
The Recently Viewed and Recently Shared albums in the Photos app can now be cleared out easily. You can tap and hold a photo to remove it one image at a time or disable the auto-loop function on videos. This feature is exclusive to the iPhone 16 line, but may be added to older models in the future.
3. Enhanced Camera Control
The Camera Control button has been improved to restrict accidental presses while holding the iPhone horizontally. This feature can be enabled by going to Settings > Display and Brightness, where you’ll find a toggle switch.
4. Expanded Find My
As part of iOS 18.2, Apple is allowing users to share the location of an AirTag with major airlines to help locate lost luggage. Simply tap the item on your iPhone, select Share Item Location, and follow the prompts to submit the link to your airline’s mobile app.
