Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened Ukraine with retaliation after a drone attack on the city of Kazan on Saturday. The attack targeted residential buildings and an industrial facility, causing no reported injuries but leaving three people with cuts from broken glass.
Putin warned that any attempts to harm Russia will be met with “multiple destruction” on the attacker’s territory, warning they would “regret what they have attempted”. The Kremlin chief made the comments during a televised video conference.
The attack comes after Ukraine was accused of responding to a Russian missile strike against Kiev. Despite being over 1,000 km from the Ukrainian border, Kazan is considered a potential target in retaliation.
