Google’s files app has updated its PDF viewer, providing a more integrated experience with the rest of the app. The new design includes star and share functionality in the top bar. Users can now access features like Safe folder and file info through an overflow menu.
The changes mark a shift from the previous interface, which only included basic actions like Find, Save to Drive, and Print. According to the Play Store changelog, improvements are being rolled out over several weeks, allowing users to print content, find specific sections, or access markup tools when opening PDFs in the app.
The updated viewer also retains its editing functionality, with a new FAB icon but unchanged functionality. This update is part of a server-side update and is available with version 1.5687.x.
