Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk successfully retained his unified heavyweight world titles by defeating Tyson Fury in a rematch in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The match saw Usyk emerge victorious on all three judges’ scorecards, winning 116-112.
Usyk, who first defeated Fury in May to become the first four-belt heavyweight champion, demonstrated his skill and strategy once again. Despite being at a physical disadvantage, Usky targeted Fury’s body and eventually slowed him down with a barrage of shots. The Ukrainian then landed a series of impressive combinations, securing a comfortable victory.
The win extends Usyk’s professional record to 23 victories with zero defeats. With this triumph, he is now set to face Daniel Dubois in an attempt to reclaim the IBF title. Fury, on the other hand, faces uncertainty about his future in boxing after suffering his second career defeat.
Usyk expressed gratitude towards Fury for a memorable 24-round bout, while also agreeing to a rematch with Dubois. A second victory over Dubois would see Usyk regain the IBF title he lost earlier this year.
