Dolphins Face Challenges Ahead of Sunday’s Game Against 49ers

The Miami Dolphins’ situation at wide receiver has become increasingly precarious with Jaylen Waddle’s knee injury and Tyreek Hill’s questionable designation for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Hill, who is dealing with a wrist injury, was limited in practice on Friday, citing personal reasons. However, he expressed optimism about playing through the injury despite the risk of further damage. His teammate, Malik Washington, has emerged as a reliable option, having improved significantly since August.

Meanwhile, left tackle Terron Armstead and right tackle Kendall Lamm are both listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, but Armstead expressed confidence in playing after a challenging week. The Dolphins will need to elevate one or two of their practice squad receivers to complement Washington.

Edge players Bradley Chubb and Cam Goode are also questionable, with the team hoping to activate them soon. Despite Tua Tagovailoa’s hip injury, he is expected to play on Sunday.

The Dolphins’ passing offense has struggled with deep passes this season, completing only 40.9% of attempts over 20 air yards. They will need to improve their performance to counter the 49ers’ strong defense.

Running back Raheem Mostert’s reduced role has taken a toll on his spirits, but he is handling it professionally. Special teams coordinator Danny Crossman attributes Jason Sanders’ recent missed extra points to “the timing” being off, which Sanders acknowledged was a minor adjustment needed.
