Airline Passenger Downgraded for Service Dog on Flight

A Reddit user’s experience with Delta Airlines has gone viral after he was downgraded from his first-class seat to a “worse” one due to a service dog. The passenger, who had been upgraded earlier that morning, discovered the dog in his original seat just 15 minutes later.

When he contacted Delta support, the airline replied that the customer may be relocated for service animals and couldn’t do anything else. The passenger expressed frustration, saying there’s no way the dog has spent as much with the airline as he has.

In response to the incident, a Delta spokesperson stated that teams are researching the details and invite the customer to contact them directly. They clarified that service animals are routinely accommodated without impacting seat assignments.

Reddit users had mixed reactions to the passenger’s comments, with some defending his view and others disagreeing. Some argued that legitimate ADA disabilities should not be penalized for the behavior of others, while others pointed out that service dogs are not a new phenomenon at airports.
