Nvidia GeForce RTX 5000 Lineup Details Emerge

Rumors about the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 5000 lineup are gaining traction ahead of CES in January. According to a tech leaker, the new Blackwell series will feature specs similar to those of the current RTX 4000 series, with the exception of the flagship RTX 5090.

The RTX 5090 is expected to be a powerhouse GPU, boasting up to 21,760 CUDA cores and 32GB of GDDR7 VRAM attached to a wide 512-bit memory interface. This marks an upgrade over the current top-end model, the RTX 4090.

However, the rest of the Blackwell lineup appears less impressive, with rumored specs for the RTX 5080, RTX 5070, and RTX 5060 being similar to their Ada predecessors. The Intel Arc B580 still holds an advantage with its 12GB of VRAM at a lower price point.

Nvidia is focusing on enhancing ray tracing capabilities and improving gaming performance using AI for the new lineup, rather than prioritizing raw shader performance. The company’s strategy may be seen as a response to limited competition in the market.

Note that Nvidia has not officially confirmed any details about the RTX 5000 lineup, so take these rumors with caution until CES 2025 arrives.
