Serene Industries’ latest flagship offering is the Icebreaker mechanical keyboard, a brutalist wedge-shaped keyboard made from a single block of CNC-machined aluminum. The keyboard features hot-swappable aluminum keycaps with configurable RGB backlighting and a 65% layout.
Pricing starts at $1,500 for the wired version, while the Bluetooth wireless and a wired version with magnetic hall effect switches are available for $1,600. The keyboard base comes in two colors – clear or black – with an additional $500 cost for the black option.
The Icebreaker boasts a 4,000 mAh battery that supports a battery life of around three months. It also features “micro-perforations” on each keycap to allow LED backlighting and 1/4-20 inch mounting points for accessories.
Inspired by the Flatiron Building in New York City, the Icebreaker’s design aims to stand out from the crowd with its distinctive wedge shape. With a price tag of over $1,000, it’s certainly an expensive conversation starter for keyboard collectors looking for something unique.
