Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Recall Due to Fungal Contamination

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a recall for one lot of Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Ultra PF due to potential fungus contamination. The affected product is the Single Vials On-the-Go, 25-count with the lot number 10101 and an expiration date of September 2025.

Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled eye drops immediately and return them for a refund or replacement. Those who experience symptoms such as eye pain, redness, blurred vision, sensitivity to light, excessive tearing, or eye discharge after using the product should contact their healthcare provider for diagnosis and treatment.

Fungal contamination in eye drops can cause serious eye infections, particularly in people with weakened immune systems or pre-existing conditions like diabetes. While there have been no reported health issues related to the recalled product, consumers should prioritize caution and take necessary steps to protect their eye health.
