The conflict in Gaza continues to escalate, with multiple incidents reported over the past 24 hours. At least seven Palestinians, including three children, were wounded after an Israeli drone attack on a tent housing displaced people northwest of Khan Younis.
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that at least eight people were killed in an ongoing Israeli raid on Tulkarem in the occupied West Bank. An Israeli strike in Gaza has killed at least two Palestinian Civil Defence members, and five bodies have been retrieved after an Israeli strike on a house in Jabalia.
Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati has called for a ceasefire monitoring committee to pressure Israel to cease violating the truce and withdraw from southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Agriculture Minister Avi Dichter stated that Israel must do everything to free captured Hamas members, even if it involves “heavy prices.” Iran’s mission to the UN has condemned Israel’s admission of assassinating former Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
In other developments, Palestinian victims have launched a legal action against BP for allegedly complicity in war crimes by supplying oil used in weapons to attack Gaza. The British oil firm owns and operates the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline, which supplies Israel with crude oil.
The situation in Gaza has taken a heavy toll on civilians, with 12,820 students killed and 21,351 wounded since the start of the Israeli aggression. Hundreds of Christians in Gaza City have gathered at a church to pray for an end to the war that has devastated much of the Palestinian territory.
As the conflict continues to escalate, Israel’s military has said it had “circumstantial influence” on a decision by Hamas to allegedly kill six captives in Gaza in August. The situation remains tense, with updates indicating Israeli raids on hospitals and other locations in Gaza.
