A stressed Amazon driver has come forward, admitting to leaving about 80 undelivered packages in a wooded area near the company’s fulfillment center just days before Christmas. Lakeville police were called to the scene on Sunday morning after receiving reports of items left unattended.
Upon investigation, officers found three totes filled with Amazon packages scattered in the woods. The driver reportedly dumped the packages at 7 pm on Saturday due to being overwhelmed and stressed.
Police declined to pursue criminal charges, instead considering it a human resources matter for Amazon. The packages were returned to the Middleboro fulfillment center after initial checks showed no signs of theft or missing items.
