Alcon Laboratories has voluntarily recalled one lot of Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Ultra PF due to fungal contamination found in a sealed single-use vial. The recall affects products sold nationwide, including Publix and Amazon.
The affected products have the following characteristics:
– Green carton with white lettering
– Ultra PF (Preservative Free) in pink strip
– “Convenient Single Vials On-the-Go” printed inside a yellow circle on the front of the box
Customers should look for these markings to identify the recalled product. The affected products were packaged in 25-count single-use vials with an expiration date stamped as 2025/09.
Fungal contamination can cause eye infections, which may be serious and vision-threatening. However, Alcon Laboratories has not received any reports of adverse events related to this recall so far.
