Fresno State Hires Former USC Coach Zach Crabtree as Offense Line Coach

Fresno State head coach Matt Entz has hired Zach Crabtree, a former USC offensive line coach, to lead the Bulldogs’ new offense. Crabtree joins Entz’s staff after previously working with him at USC, where he was the linebackers coach.

The move comes as Entz seeks to build his foundation for the Pac-12 in 2026. Fresno State has signed several transfer portal additions, including offensive lineman Gino Quinones and linebacker Jadon Pearson. The team also welcomed junior cornerback Alzillion Hamilton and wide receiver Josiah Freeman, who withdrew from the transfer portal.

Despite a disappointing end to the season with a loss to NIU in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, Entz expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the program. Interim head coach Tim Skipper praised the Red Wave for their support before leaving the position.

The Bulldogs have also made several other signings through the transfer portal, including tight end Kyson Van Vugt and defensive back Simeon Harris. These additions aim to address team needs in key positions.

With the hiring of Crabtree, Entz is building a strong foundation for the program’s transition to the Pac-12.
