Wolves Hold Off Mavericks’ Late Rally Behind Randle and Edwards

The Minnesota Timberwolves ended their three-game losing streak with a 105-99 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, thanks in large part to a strong performance from Julius Randle. Despite trailing by as many as 28 points in the third quarter, the Wolves built a big lead early and held on for the win.

The team’s bench, led by Donte DiVincenzo, provided key contributions down the stretch. Anthony Edwards scored 26 points, including a clutch driving layup with 18.6 seconds left to seal the game. Kyrie Irving led the Mavericks’ comeback, but the Wolves held on for their first win in three games.

Coach Chris Finch praised Randle’s ability to adapt his game and find new ways to contribute to the team. “He’s a facilitator and he’s been great at adjusting to being less of a primary scorer,” Finch said. “We need to make sure we keep him at the center of that more.”

The win is a much-needed boost for the Wolves, who are 15-14 on the season. The team is taking a long view and trying not to get too caught up in short-term results.

“This is completely different personnel than I played with in years past,” Randle said. “Everybody’s been great. Helping me out, super encouraging and positive.”
