Former Abercrombie CEO Accused of Sex Trafficking May Have Dementia

Abercrombie & Fitch’s former CEO, Michael Jeffries, who faces criminal charges of sex trafficking and interstate prostitution, may be incompetent to face the charges due to potential dementia. According to court papers filed by his defense lawyers on Long Island, a neuropsychologist has concluded that Jeffries likely suffers from dementia with behavioral disturbance, Alzheimer’s disease, and Lewy body dementia. The 80-year-old is currently free on a $10 million bond, having pleaded not guilty to the sex charges. Prosecutors and his lawyers have jointly requested a competency hearing. Jeffries is accused of luring men to sex parties under the guise of modeling opportunities, with accusers alleging they were subjected to humiliating and painful experiences.
