Bill Maher Criticizes Left’s Polarization and Politics

Comedian Bill Maher recently expressed his frustration with the current state of politics in a podcast episode. In an interview with Jay Leno about Sammy Davis Jr., Maher reflected on America’s polarized climate, saying people are now not allowed to have friends from different parties or cross party lines.

Maher said this is in contrast to past times when it was possible to befriend someone from the opposing side without facing backlash. He joked that even being seen as friends with a Republican would lead to extreme reactions today. The comedian criticized the left’s tendency to cut off family members who voted for the wrong candidate, calling it “the worst thing you could ever do.”

Maher’s comments highlight his stance against tribal politics and division.
