Amazon Delivery Driver Abandons 80 Packages in Woods

A Massachusetts police department discovered three large tote bags of Amazon packages dumped in a wooded area, totaling around 80 items. The Lakeville Police Department found the unattended packages during a routine patrol early Sunday morning. An investigation revealed that an Amazon delivery driver had left the packages on the side of the road due to stress.

The driver reported leaving the packages because they were “stressed” after visiting the police department the following day. The packages have since been returned to an Amazon distribution center in Middleborough, Massachusetts. Lakeville Police Chief Matthew Perkins stated that Amazon is not seeking criminal charges and considers the incident a human resources matter for the company.

This incident comes as Teamster drivers are on strike against Amazon, claiming the company ignored their deadline to negotiate new contracts for higher wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions. The union disputes Amazon’s claim that they do not represent any employees, citing thousands of workers affected by the strike.
