The Pittsburgh Steelers’ strong start to the 2024 season has come to an abrupt halt. Following a 29-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the team’s record has dropped to 10-6 and they are in danger of losing their AFC North lead to the Baltimore Ravens.
In an angry post-game interview, safety DeShon Elliott expressed his frustration with the team’s recent performance. “They made adjustments when they should have,” Elliott said. “Guys can’t be wide open. That’s the first thing. Do your job.” The comments highlighted the Steelers’ struggles in allowing opponents to capitalize on lax defensive play.
Elliott’s criticism comes after three of the four games this season where the Steelers allowed the most passing yards per attempt occurred in their last three games. With a well-rested team facing them next week against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Steelers will need to regroup and improve their performance if they hope to salvage their season.
