Eye Drops Recalled Due to Fungal Contamination in NJ

Alcon Laboratories has issued a nationwide recall of its Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Ultra PF, Single Vials On-the-Go due to fungal contamination. The affected product is sold in 25-count packages and is used to relieve dry eyes.

The FDA received a complaint about foreign material inside one sealed vial, which was later determined to be fungal in nature. If the contaminated drops are used, they could cause an eye infection that threatens users’ vision, particularly for immunocompromised patients.

Customers who have purchased these eye drops are advised to stop using them immediately and return them to their place of purchase for a replacement or refund. Anyone with questions regarding this recall can contact Alcon Laboratories at 1-800-241-5999 between 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (Eastern), Monday to Friday.

The recalled product has the following details: lot number 10101, expiration date September 2025, green and pink carton, and 25 vials per package. Consumers should discard any remaining drops and contact their healthcare provider if they experience problems related to this product.
