Uber Technologies Inc., a global ride-hailing giant, has expressed disappointment over Taiwan’s decision to reject its $950 million bid for Delivery Hero SE’s Foodpanda unit in the island nation. The Fair Trade Commission of Taiwan cited concerns that allowing Uber to acquire Foodpanda would limit competition in the local food delivery market. Despite this setback, Uber remains committed to expanding its presence in Taiwan, a market it considers one of the world’s fastest-growing and most lucrative food-delivery hubs.
