Actress Billie Lourd has opened up about living with grief as she marks the eighth anniversary of her mother Carrie Fisher’s passing. Carrie, who was 60 when she died in 2016, was a Star Wars actress.
Billie, 32, shared her emotional experience on Instagram, saying that each year is like an “emotional tropical storm” but also filled with beauty and magic. She likened grief to having a broken leg that never heals fully, but has learned to adapt and find joy in life’s little moments.
The actress credited her children as the reason she feels grateful despite the pain of losing her mother. Billie concluded that she is dancing through life with her “limp” and finding beauty in the midst of grief.
