Scottie Scheffler Misses PGA Tour Start Due to Injury

Golf World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will not be celebrating Christmas Day with his usual golfing traditions this year. The professional golfer suffered a puncture wound from a broken glass while preparing dinner and is now expected to miss the start of the 2025 PGA Tour season.

Scheffler’s manager, Blake Smith, stated that the injury required surgery and will keep him out of The Sentry tournament in Hawaii. Scheffler has been given three to four weeks to recover and is expected to return to competition in mid-January at The American Express tournament in California.

The 2024 season has been a remarkable one for Scheffler, who won seven events on the PGA Tour, including the Masters and Olympic Games. He also welcomed his first child with wife Meredith earlier this year and had an eventful off-course life, including being arrested and charged with felony assault before being released from jail.

Despite the setback, Scheffler remains optimistic about his recovery and is looking forward to returning to competition in 2025.
