Big Lots Reaches Deal to Preserve Stores and Jobs

Big Lots has agreed to sell its US stores to Gordon Brothers Retail Partners, which will allow at least 200 stores to remain open and preserve thousands of jobs. Under the deal, Variety Wholesalers is expected to acquire around 200-400 stores, continuing to operate them under the Big Lots brand. The sale must be approved by bankruptcy court for it to proceed.
