Navy quarterback Blake Horvath has made history in the Armed Forces Bowl, becoming the first player to score a 95-yard touchdown run for the Midshipmen. The record-breaking play, which tied the game at 14-14 with 3:49 left in the third quarter, surpassed the previous school record of 93 yards set by Johnny Sai in 1963.
Horvath’s impressive run began when he faked a handoff and ran straight up the middle, evading a defender around the Oklahoma 20-yard line. As he neared the end zone, Horvath stretched out to make the score, which was initially ruled short before being overturned after a replay review.
The victory marks an exciting conclusion to Navy’s season, capping off an impressive performance by Horvath and his team.
