NHL Star Brothers’ Widow Gives Birth to New Son Four Months After Tragic Deaths

Philadelphia Eagles’ Matthew Gaudreau’s widow, Madeline, has announced the birth of her newborn son, Tripp Matthew, four months after her husband and his NHL star brother’s tragic deaths. The infant’s father, former pro hockey player Matthew Gaudreau, died in August along with his uncle, Columbus Blue Jackets star Johnny Gaudreau.

In a heartwarming Instagram post on Sunday, Madeline shared a photo of herself holding Tripp’s tiny hand, stating “Mommy & Daddy’s world.” Her announcement comes as her husband Meredith had recently announced the pregnancy, calling it a surprise. The couple has pledged to take care of each other and their children.

The tragic incident occurred when Sean Higgins, suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, crashed into the brothers while they were riding bikes in New Jersey for their sister’s wedding. Higgins was arrested and indicted on charges including second-degree reckless vehicular homicide. His arraignment is set for January 7.

As a tribute to her late husband, Madeline has made it clear that she wants others to prioritize road safety. She urged people not to drink and drive in a message, saying “Please do not put another family through this torture.”
